r/MtvChallenge Fantasy League: Redemption House - Day Nine (Round Two)

2020.01.30 05:47 ND_PC r/MtvChallenge Fantasy League: Redemption House - Day Nine (Round Two)

It’s the second round of the MtvChallenge redemption house, losers! This is where the stakes get even higher for the official Fantasy League™ and for us as well. While in our first round, all teams had records of 0-1 (pffft, scrubs), this is the round where teams must have actually mustered a win in order to compete. All teams in this round are 1-1, so congrats to everyone for being perfectly mediocre at what we do. How exciting! Join us as losers continue to battle head-to-head to fight for redemption, coming back from embarrassing losses, terrifying finals, and (supposed) voter insanity. While you won’t enter back into the Winner’s Bracket, you may just find yourself the Ruler of Redemption.
Before we get to the voting, let’s recap last night’s fantasy draft match-ups.
Real World Bracket
YESSS My faith in the voting public is restored! We should have democracy in every single decision we make ever. The physicality of Frank, the plasticity of Jenny, the puzzle prowess of Mitch, and the [come up with something for Morgan] of Morgan prevails! Ooops, wait, did I leave that in? That’s a typo, guys, Morgan is great at something, and we all know what it is. I shouldn’t even have to tell you.
Maybe it’s because of the free dive into the deep sea, but I totally agree that the aforementioned superstars would have wiped the floor with Kam, Brad, Julie, and Noor in this final. Nevermind that I had to look up the word “catamaran” just to understand the writeup, this final would be a breeze for u/rileymarks1’s team. For u/absent_morals, you are the first 1-2 finisher of the tournament! That’s your accomplishment. Print this post out and hang it on your fridge, assuming you have one.
Road Rules Bracket
Oh, so this team of Evan, Coral, Nehemiah, and Avery is still winning finals it shouldn’t? I mean, I know that the other team had Camila and a person of color, so they probably were already basically screwed, but they also had Theo Von and Kendal! Smh, I guess this is what happens when we let democracy tell us what to do. Why is there no tyranny anymore? Sheesh.
But really, this final was basically all endurance, plus a puzzle, a climb, a carry, a push, and an elevator. If that’s not a recipe for Camila to freak out and implode then I don’t know what is. Oh wait, yes I do. Literally just the puzzle. That’s the only ingredient needed for a Camila implosion. So, yes, u/KCDoc4, better luck next year. u/LotteryBoundPod, congratulations.
Now, let’s get to voting!

  1. Jordan Wisely is a beast with a dirty mustache and other facial hair that kind of looks like pubes. He’s known for having one hand and still winning eliminations that seem like they require two hands against men with two hands. He proposed on the Challenge and everybody was happy for him except one person, then he ended the season celebrating on a boat while that person cried in a corner. Once, he said that Jemmye had “down-syndrome face,” and yet he’s somehow a fan-favorite today. In the house he’s known as a cocky prick, but he is an awesome narrator when the moment calls for it.
  2. Stephen Bear’s cousin is hot, and he thinks so, too! If he’s not on screen, he’s usually screaming in the background. A pool table is no match for him. Teddy, Grizzly, Polar, Care, it doesn’t matter - Stephen has claimed the identity of every Bear on the planet. Personally, I think his eyes are his best feature, but losing to Joss in an elimination is a close second.
  3. Nicole Z. doesn’t think the Challenge is the right place to fall in love, but she still manages to woo women who are way out of her league with a less-than-charming thick Staten Island accent. I guess Laurel and Melissa (and Cara?) have the same taste in nasally cops. She is a triplet, and nearly identical to one of her two sisters, so I question how much of Nicole we’ve actually seen and how much of it is her sister, Ashley. Nicole is two-for-two on finals appearances, and her Challenge career ended not with a bang, but with a whimper, as she injured her ankle in the early stages of the Vendettas final.
  4. Mandi Moyer is a bleach-blonde queen who made one final in four seasons on The Challenge. During that final, she timed out of a checkpoint and was forced to quit the challenge because it would literally be too dangerous to advance to the next checkpoint. Guys. She was defeated by darkness. Mother Nature hates her. In other news, she looks like Jennifer Anniston and Susie Meister had a child. She’s currently 32 years old which is still well within callback age, so there’s a chance we may see her again down the road (lol who am I kidding, no there’s not).
u/cristal214 “A Wrestler, A Comedian, and Model Walk into a Bar”
  1. Theo Von: In a hugely men’s team on Battle of the Sexes 2, Theo managed to tie or better Brad, Mark, and the Miz amongst others in daily challenges to will his way to the final where he led his team to victory. (3x Daily Challenge Winner, 6 Time Team Captain)
  2. The Miz: Always a team leader, the Miz’s personality was always contagious. Thrown into elimination THREE times, he earned his own lifesaver twice and got another given to him by his buddy Landon paving the way for him to win the final and retire early. (3x Daily Challenge Winner)
  3. Janelle: Never seeing an elimination in the Inferno 3, Janelle consistently performed in the middle of the pack or better for the eventual victorious Bad Asses. Even when the teams were uneven, Janelle never sat out and always showed up to compete. Her greatest showings were winning the Giraffic Park challenge (swimming + memory) and being the Captain placed in an electric chair, shocked any time her team got a question incorrect during the trivia challenge.
  4. Jill Tuttle: Due to the season’s format, Jill was gone too soon as she was eliminated because her bloodline, Cohutta, lost in an elimination. Although, she never returned, you could tell just by looking at her (or her instagram) that around the time of Battle of the Bloodlines, that Jill was ripped and ready to rumble. She even postponed her own wedding to be there for her cousin. Dedication + Loyalty.

u/kayotereeves
  1. Tori Deal - War of the Worlds 2 Tori debuted on Dirty Thirty--an AYTO alum who showed off her athleticism in AYTO Second Chances--where she became a contender for Rookie of the Year after making it to the final based on a largely under-the-radar social game. In the D30 final, Tori notably kept up with veterans Camila and Cara Maria to the point where Cara Maria admitted she expected Tori to win second place. Jordan encouraged Tori throughout the final and I find it pretty telling that she never held him back, knowing what a brutal pace Jordan sets. After an unfortunate partnership with popcorn-muscles ex Derrick in Final Reckoning, Tori returned for her third and most recent season in War of the Worlds 2, where she universally inspired fear among the other women, who praised Tori’s athleticism, workouts, swimming ability, and running ability. Tori was in great physical shape this season and had the added advantage and intimidation factor of height. She’s an all-around solid competitor who works well as part of a team. She won two eliminations in WotW2, notably dominating physical specimen Jenny West in Hall Brawl, as well as beating the formidable Georgia in an endurance comp. From the edit we saw, Tori performed exceptionally in the final: consistently carried her weight, kept calm, didn’t whine, and always motivated her teammates. If it weren’t for the final puzzle purge, Tori would be a challenge champion right now. And Tori isn’t typically known as a weak mentalist, so I would chalk this puzzle up to fatigue. Overall, Tori is an amazing addition to any team in a final.
  2. Nelson Thomas - Final Reckoning Nelson is an absolute tank. He debuted on Rivals 3, where he was partnered with Amanda Garcia. The two didn’t go far in the game, but they did manage to send home Johnny Reilly--a strong veteran competitor--and partner Jessica McCain in their first-ever elimination. Invasion of the Champs was Nelson’s second season and he returned with a vengeance, making it all the way to the final, where he placed second after the GOAT CT, and finished ahead of Cory Wharton. Some conspiracy theories even suggest that Nelson truly won this final, but alas, we’ll never know the final times. Nelson beat four strong competitors this season in largely physical eliminations: Anthony Bartolette (AYTO), Dario Medrano, Cory Wharton, and Shane Landrum. In subsequent seasons, Nelson proved himself to be an elimination beast. He sent home Hunter Barfield (champ) and Cory (second-place finisher), and his elimination against Darrel (four-time champ) ended in a draw. On Final Reckoning, he received a huge leg-up in Shane as his partner. The duo sent home two strong teams via elimination and made it deep in the game before being eliminated by Bananas and Tony. Nelson’s strengths are physicality, endurance, strength, heart, and a strong inner desire to win. His weaknesses are swimming, puzzles, and politics -- weaknesses that are compensated for in teammates Tori and Shane.
  3. Shane Landrum - Final Reckoning Shane is a wisened vet with a total of seven Challenge appearances. After a long hiatus following Fresh Meat 1, Shane returned for Invasion of the Champs and began competing again as part of the modern era. He’s one of the top three swimmers, along with Wes and Jordan, and he’s also a strong in puzzles, strategy, and politics. While athletic, he’s somewhat smaller than most of the other men, so he struggles a bit more with physicality and strength. In Invasion, Shane sent home Tony Two-Kids via the Tuk Tuk Bang Bang elimination--a combination of strength and strategy. Vendettas wasn’t a notable season, but Shane and Nelson shone as a duo in Final Reckoning due to great chemistry and compensating for each others’ weaknesses. The pair saw two eliminations and won both against teams Brad and Kyle (one of the strongest pairs in the house), and Cara Maria and Marie. Shane and Nelson were unfortunately sent home by Bananas and Tony, but that’s a pretty tough team to beat based on size alone.
  4. Tina Barta - Fresh Meat 1 Tina is a tough-as-nails old-school challenger who’s competed in five challenges and two finals. She’s played the game with Shane before, so he should be a welcome face on this team. Tina debuted on The Gauntlet, where Coral sent her home early on in a tough break. She had long, solid runs on both Battle of the Sexes 2 (won one daily challenge) and Inferno 2, where she sent Robin home in elimination and made the final. She was even brought back as a heavy-hitter, along with CT, on Cutthroat. She didn’t end up backpacking anyone, but her physical prowess earned her that heavy hitter slot. Tina’s lucky break came in Fresh Meat 1, where she picked a young, bright-eyed Kenny Santucci as her partner. The two performed admirably throughout the season, making the final and taking home second place. They won two eliminations, sending home Katie and Big Easy (a huge feat in and of itself, pun intended), and Theo and Chanda, one of the stronger teams left toward the end of the season. Tina and Kenny also won the last daily challenge right before the final, securing their spot when they absolutely needed to. They beat the elimination-dominating Wes and Casey in the final, in an era where Wes was arguably hitting his peak, and lost only to powerhouse Darrel and Aviv.

2020.01.29 05:11 honestkodaline Fantasy Tournament - Day Eighteen (Round of 16)

Welcome to the MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament! For the past month, teams have battled the elements, grueling physical challenges, and my personal insults to survive to the second round. To those who made it: congratulations! And to those in purgatory: you did your best. I'm sure you'll get 'em next year.
(Probably not. Your odds are low. But maybe!)
Before we get to today's vote, here are the results from day seventeen:
REAL WORLD BRACKET - u/rileymarks1 vs. u/RohAnTheMaker,u/giogugenishvili's "The Silent Assassins"; S23: Battle of the Seasons II
The Silent Assassins - 78
rileymarks1 - 59
ROAD RULES BRACKET - u/appropriatelywhelmed vs. u/KCDoc4's "Fresh Meat Sweats"; S9: Battle of the Sexes II
appropriatelywhelmed - 71
KCDoc4 - 66
So that's the end of the road for u/rileymarks1 and u/KCDoc4 - EXCEPT IT'S NOT. The loser's bracket is WELL underway (in the beginning stages of Round 2, in fact!), and today's losers are actually competing in tomorrow's round!
Now let's get to today's vote! Please note: Unlike last round, I will not be making writeups for those who didn't send me player summaries. Feel free to send them along if you'd like them included.
REAL WORLD BRACKET -
u/BCastle18's "Team Weston is the Beston" vs. u/cristal214's "A Wrestler, Comedian, and Model Walk into a Bar"; S12: Fresh Meat
Team Weston is the Beston: Landon Lueck (Fresh Meat 2), Adam Kuhn (Battle of the Exes II), Sylvia Elsrode (Final Reckoning), Natalie Negrotti (Final Reckoning)
A Wrestler, Comedian, and Model Walk into a Bar: Mike "The Miz" Mizanin (The Inferno II), Theo Von (Battle of the Sexes II), Jill Tuttle (Battle of the Bloodlines), Janelle Casanave (Inferno III)
What the final entailed: - It's a 10 mile foot race down a beach with puzzles and checkpoints. Partners are tethered together by a 6 ft line.
(Thanks to u/stayoutofthe-forest for this summary!)
Why you should vote for Team Weston is the Beston: Landon in the night elimination against Luke and Ev literally dragged a almost unconscious Carley to a win and in the finals carried Carley up a mountain to get the win over 3 teams that on paper seemed stronger one of which included two top 10 challengers of all time in Kenny and Laurel with the weakest partner. Also did all of this while being respectful and supportive of his partner throughout showing he is very much a great team player.
Only one team was in the main house all season on FR, it was Sylvia and Joss. They won the final endurance purge and won it rather comfortably. Showed that she can keep her composure in their elimination against John/Tony and many even believe that Sylvia and Joss were the rightful winners of FR, they also only lost by 40 seconds even while getting hit with two grenades.
Why you should vote for A Wrestler, Comedian, and Model Walk into a Bar:
Theo Von: In a hugely men’s team on Battle of the Sexes 2, Theo managed to tie or better Brad, Mark, and the Miz amongst others in daily challenges to will his way to the final where he led his team to victory. (3x Daily Challenge Winner, 6 Time Team Captain)
The Miz: Always a team leader, the Miz’s personality was always contagious. Thrown into elimination THREE times, he earned his own lifesaver twice and got another given to him by his buddy Landon paving the way for him to win the final and retire early. (3x Daily Challenge Winner)
ROAD RULES BRACKET: u/joshyanks84's "Team Pornos" vs. u/scyth13r's "Technicality TV"; S10: The Inferno II
Team Pornos: Tyler Duckworth (Rivals I), Dunbar Merrill (Cutthroat), Jodi Weatherton (The Duel I), Tonya Cooley (The Inferno III)
Technicality TV: Frank Roessler (Gauntlet III), Luke Wolfe (Cutthroat), Evelyn Smith (Rivals I), Sylvia Elsrode (Final Reckoning)
What the final entailed: - Every person starts the final with 3 gold keys. At each station there is something locked up (oars, bikes, etc) and teams must unlock all items needed.
(Once again, thanks to u/stayoutofthe-forest for this summary!)
Why you should vote for Team Pornos: Jodi Weatherton – The Duel • Two-time challenge champion • Won 7/15 missions (5 on girls day), next highest girl was 3 • Never called out for elimination from pure fear • Was ahead of Wes in the final until the puzzle stage (during the initial run) • Finished 1st overall (guys and girls) in “Paddle Me” mission (a swimming motion on a paddle board) • Weaknesses: Puzzles Strengths: Everything else
Tyler Duckworth – Rivals • Two-time challenge champion, Olympic swimming hopeful • Only person to beat CT, Derrick and Bananas (x2) in elimination • 3 daily wins, 1 elimination win in Rivals • Kept pace well with a prime Bananas while sick in the final • One of four men to win back-to-back seasons • Tufts University Graduate • Survived a “Choo-Choo” from CT • Strengths: Everything Weaknesses: Madonna
Tonya Cooley – Inferno III • Won the Inferno III • Second best performing women of the season, right behind Evelyn • Solid final performance, didn’t slow team down through the running and swimming • Very composed due to being her only season while she was married • Strengths: Solid all around Weaknesses: Brute Strength, Davis
Dunbar Merrill – Cutthroat • Won Cutthroat • First overall chosen male • Won an elimination round • Very strong final showing (12.7 miles of running) • Strengths: Brute strength, endurance Weaknesses: Puzzles, pornography
Why you should vote for Technicality TV:
-Frank Roessler Gauntlet III
The leader and backbone of his team. A smart physical competitor, the Veterans constantly targeted Frank. He prevailed in eliminations and his team took home a controversial W in the final.
-Luke Wolfe Cutthroat
Finishing ahead of the almighty Landon in elimination wasn't enough losing due to a puzzle in FM2, Luke carried his weight, and Abrams, and Sarah's, and Cara Maria's in the final of Cutthroat. Had the almighty Abe and Sarah been medically DQ'd sooner he would have won the final.
-Sylvia Elserode Final Reckoning
Boasting a questionable 2nd place finish in a final, she did the thinking, the planning, and the puzzles for her team. She also tied Joss' shoes for him.
-Evelyn Smith Rivals
It's Evelyn fucking Smith.
So which of these teams deserves to move ahead? You decide!
VOTE HERE.
Voting will close at 10pm EST, 1/29.

2020.01.15 15:02 honestkodaline r/MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament - Day Eight (Round of 32)

Welcome to the MtvChallenge Fantasy Tournament! For the past month, 64 users on our sub have been drafting teams of four to compete in hypothetical final challenges. Now that the draft is complete, it's time to decide who drafted the best team! This tournament will consist of two single-elimination brackets, The Real World and Road Rules. Once each bracket has a winner, the two winners will face off for the ultimate title.
Before we get to today's vote, here are the results from day seven:
REAL WORLD BRACKET - u/PapaJon123 "Hurricane Noss" vs. u/rileymarks1; S30: XXX: Dirty 30
rileymarks1 - 136
Hurricane Noss - 68
I can't be the only one surprised about this. I understand why rileymarks won, but I thought it would be close! Joss and Cooke are tailor-made for finals, and while Ty died on the Exes final, nothing on Dirty 30 compared to climbing a glacier. But Nia and Morgan are equally proven in finals, and the trio of Frank, Mitch, and Jenny is hard to beat. So congrats, u/rileymarks1! You're moving on.
And never fear, u/PapaJon123... thanks to u/ND_PC and u/MandyMTV, your team lives on! Loser's bracket is COMING SOON. All hail!
ROAD RULES BRACKET - u/wade5554 "You Cannot Copy My Walk" vs. DQ - Because tomato1210 dropped out of the draft, u/wade5554 will move automatically into the round of 16.
Now let's get to today's vote!
REAL WORLD BRACKET -
u/CrossfitJebus's "CJ's Banana Hammock" vs. u/cristal214's "A Wrestler, Comedian, and Model Walk Into a Bar"; S32: Final Reckoning
CJ's Banana Hammock: Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio (Free Agents), Dunbar Merrill (Cutthroat), Robin Hibbard (The Gauntlet III), Anne Wharton (RW/RR Challenge)
A Wrestler, Comedian, and Model Walk Into a Bar: Mike "The Miz" Mizanin (The Inferno II), Theo Von (Battle of the Sexes II), Jill Tuttle (Battle of the Bloodlines), Janelle Casanave (Inferno III)
What the final entailed: This final was won by having the lowest total time. First, players were taken up in a helicopter and all teams were given grenades they would be allowed to use against other teams during the final. Teams were then asked to climb down from the helicopter via a ladder. Teams were then asked to run 4K to their next checkpoint.
The next checkpoint was called The Final Stand and teams were asked to stand together on a pyramid shaped tower all night, or at least until one team remained. 1st to drop gets 10mins added to their total time. The grenade teams could use at this checkpoint is: weighted vests.
The Eating Checkpoint: Teams were asked to finish a 32 course meal the fastest. The foods represented countries the challenge has been held in. Some of the foods were worms, pigs face, chicken heads, chicken necks, lamb stomach, chicken stomach, cow snout and pofadder. Once one team completes all 32 plates, time will stop and the amount of plates left on the losing teams tables will count as one min added to their total time. (1 plate=1min) The grenade for this checkpoint was forcing the opposing team to drink a Amisi Fish Milkshake before starting on the 32 plates.
Savannah Sprint is the second last checkpoint in this final. Teams were asked to run 3k through a jungle to a cave where they will find TJ and their final checkpoint. Teams were asked if they wanted to use their grenade before the race started. The grenade was forcing another team to wait 10 min before being allowed to begin the 3K sprint.
The final checkpoint was walking across hot coals. The grenade for this checkpoint means you can have an opposing teams ankles tied up and locked and force them to look through a set of 32 keys and unlock themselves before running across the path of hot coals.
Why you should vote for CJ's Banana Hammock: Johnny Bananas (Free Agents) -
This man needs no introduction, he’s the champ. This is the only singles season and Johnny killed. He eliminated 3x champ CT at a puzzle, 3x champ Jordan in a wall race, and veteran Isaac in a physical elimination. This was a dominant season for Bananas. Other competitors include Zach, who he beat in the final, Leroy, Frank, Brandon and mother F’n Swift.
The final consisted of kayaking, a 10k run half way up a mountain, mountain climbing, a 25 mile stationary bike ride, the final stage was climbing to the summit of Villarica.
Dunbar (Cutthroat) -
A championship season for Dummy Bear.
He went to elimination one time and defeated Dan in “Die hard” (Die Hard: Players have to stand, kneel on and roll oversize dice, without any body parts touching the ground. The players have to match the number that T. J. Lavin rolls prior to the Gulag. The first player to roll their die into a designated square with the matching number facing up wins : from Wikipedia)
He ran a final with Brad, Tori and Tyler
The final was contested on a tarmac and was a series of checkpoints including carrying a teammate on a stretcher, rolling a large tire, obstacle courses, a puzzle and of course lots of running. It should be noted Abram and Sarah has to be taken away in an ambulance due to over heating. Dummy was second to complete the final
Robin Hibbard (The Gauntlet 3)
Robin wasn’t the mess we know from later seasons yet. She was here to compete and win. She used her social skills to keep herself out of elimination all season all while still performing at a high level
The final consisted of a half mile swim, puzzles, running while chained to teammates and other variations of games played during the season
Ultimately Robin’s team finished first in the final but due to Big Easy having to be carted off they lost the final
Anne Wharton (RW/RR challenge (s2))
This was in the early days of the challenge. It seems the final was a cash wind tunnel. So not very tough. Road Rules won the season in the end. Anne is a champion
Good luck to whoever has to face this dominate monster team.
Why you should vote for A Wrestler, Comedian, and Model Walk Into a Bar: Theo Von: In a hugely men’s team on Battle of the Sexes 2, Theo managed to tie or better Brad, Mark, and the Miz amongst others in daily challenges to will his way to the final where he led his team to victory.
ROAD RULES BRACKET:
u/MattyRobsDW's "Brits +1" vs. u/Upsidedown_Swan; S31: Vendettas
Brits +1: Theo Campbell (War of the Worlds I), Stephen Bear (War of the Worlds I), Georgia Harrison (War of the Worlds I), Morgan Willett (War of the Worlds I)
(fun fact: This is the ONLY team that consists entirely of competitors from the same season!)
u/Upsidedown_Swan: Mitch Reid (Battle of the Bloodlines), Pete Connelly (Fresh Meat II), Rachel Robinson (Duel II), Jill Tuttle (Battle of the Bloodlines)
What the final entailed: Vendettas was a four portion final. The three initial checkpoints had finalists collecting tokens after completing each checkpoint. First, contestants were shackled up and raced to the Torchbringer checkpoint. Each player had to transfer all of their torches from 1 bin to another about 100 yards away. If they chose to, players could also grab torches from their opponents and place back in their opponent’s starting bins. Upon completion, they raced to the next checkpoint where each player faced Johnny or Melissa as mercenaries in a game of OveUnder. They had to win best of 3, or else they received one of the following grenades: Drink Water, Do Jumping Jacks, or Bury a Log.
Afterwards, each player put on a suit of armor to race to the next checkpoint. At the Pegged Sword Game challenge, players competed in pairs (must wait for next person to arrive) in a game where they can take 1-3 swords out of a circle per turn. Last person with 1 sword left wins and can make the loser drink Hot Chocolate or Soup or Eat Cheese. Upon completion the players race to the finish. Only 2 males and 2 females are able to stay for the final color memory puzzle. The first place male and first place female each get a head start to their final puzzle.
(Obviously, this final is unique in that it's not suited for a team, but rather for an individual. For each obstacle, just imagine that the entire team must complete it together.)
Why you should vote for Brits +1: Theo Campbell: With a strong second place finish his rookie season in a grueling WOTW 1 final, Theo Campbell is nothing short of what we want to see when it comes to athleticism on The Challenge. This is the man to lead my team through the final as long as he’s got the right teammates to utilize.
Georgia Harrison: Has always worked well with Theo and Bear, so chemistry needs to be taken into account imo. Has proven in the past two seasons she is one of the toughest contestants on the show. Made a final in WOTW 1 her rookie season. Won 3-4 eliminations.
Bear: Wild card. Has proven to be a tough competitor in elimination. Does work well with Theo and Georgia. If he spends less time focused on women he might make it farther in the game. But this scenario already puts him in the final and I believe he would perform well, especially with the partners I have chosen for him.
Morgan Willets: Have wanted to see more of her, we don’t have much to go on but I think that with these players she would def thrive in the final.
Why you should vote for u/Upsidedown_Swan: Rachel in the duel 2 delivered potentially the most dominant finals performance we've ever seen and if we ignore any of that bullshit context and just look at the facts, not only did she annihilate the other girls, she even beat prime Evan, Brad and Mark.
Mitch went to college.
Pete is the guy who in his first elimination knocked out what could have retrospectively been one of the most op pairs in challenge history, Darrell and Cara Maria. This might need fact checking but is this the only time Darrell's lost an elimination other than when CT broke the game during invasion? And beating him in an exile which is basically a mini final, something he more than excels, at while he was paired with first pick of the draft is potentially the most impressive introduction anyone has ever made to the show.
Jill, Cohutta's bloodline, is an incredible athlete that we were robbed of seeing more of my bloodlines rubbish format. Not only did she dominate the first daily challenge but she also postponed her wedding to compete and is related to Cohutta so I think we can safely say that she also has a tonne of heart to match her athleticism.
I can't bring myself not to brag about the star of my team some more so here's more stuff about how great Mitch is. He single-handedly dragged Cory to his best ever finish in a final. Ashley couldn't even drag Cory past Nate and Christina. Cory is the guy who somehow managed to cost both Camila and Nicole (2 great competitors) the same final. I don't want to shit on Cory too much as I think he's a better competitor than people give him credit for but that doesn't fit my narrative so I'm going to say he sucks. During the bloodlines final Mitch displays a range of impressive skills athleticism and incredible puzzle solving. All the guys in the final struggled carrying the bags which I think is fair enough considering that each of them were carrying the same weight as was on the entire UK team's gurney in wotw 2 although I will accept that the climates and distance weren't quite equal. In summary I think this team is well balanced and with 2 very athletic girls, one of which is one of the best to ever play, an absolute work horse in Pete and a puzzle genius, which considering the Vendattas shitty final basically comes down to a puzzle should come on handy.
So which of these teams deserves to move ahead? You decide!
VOTE HERE.
Voting will close at 10pm EST, 1/15.

2019.12.13 16:45 GrahamCracker00 A few months ago, I made a Challenge leaderboard by changing the payout structure for finals. Here is the updated leaderboard through War of the Worlds 2!

If you want a little more background into why I did this, see the original post here. If you don’t want to spend time reading all that, then here’s the gist: What if each format of the show had the same pay structure every time it occured? That way we’d have a better idea of who’s the GOAT by looking at the money earners list. That’s what this list is trying to accomplish. Example:
There are two key differences between this list and the previous list:
You might also notice a change from my previous three-team format, altering the 2nd and 3rd place money by $10K each. Anyway, this is what the new payout structure looks like:
Format Payout Structure Applies to
Literally just a season of Road Rules, lol $15,000 per participant for completing each task. Road Rules All Stars
Six vs. Six, no elimination $25,000 per winner, nothing for losers. RW/RR Challenge, Challenge 2000, Extreme Challenge
Elimination down to a predetermined number of players per team $50,000 per winner. $12,500 per loser in the final. (Note that this means Cara, Natalie D, Paulie, and Zach are the only Team US members paid in WOTW 2 final.) Battle of the Seasons 2002, Battle of the Sexes, Battle of the Sexes 2, The Island, War of the Worlds 2
Team A vs. Team B, potential for an uneven final $300,000 divided amongst the winners. Each loser in the final receives an amount equivalent to 25% of the winner’s share. The Gauntlet, The Inferno, The Inferno II, The Gauntlet 2, The Inferno 3, The Gauntlet III, The Ruins
Pairs, usually in the guy/girl variety, competing in one competition 1st: $100,000 per player. 2nd: $35,000 per player. 3rd: $15,000 per player. 4th(if present): $0. There is no money-stealing from partners under this structure. Fresh Meat, Fresh Meat II, Battle of the Exes, Battle of the Exes II, Battle of the Bloodlines, Rivals III, Final Reckoning
Individual 1st Female and Male: $100,000 each. 2nd Female and Male: $35,000 each. 3rd Female and Male: $15,000 each. 4th Female and Male(if present): $0. (Note that only four players ran the final in The Duel, however both CT and Aneesa are paid under this structure. This also means that Zach is rewarded a win for Vendettas, as is Natalie D. for WOTW.) The Duel, The Duel II, Free Agents, Invasion of the Champions, XXX: Dirty 30, Vendettas, War of the Worlds
Multi-team challenges 1st: $200,000 split amongst team members. 2nd: $70,000 split amongst team members. 3rd: $30,000 split amongst team members. Cutthroat, Battle of the Seasons 2012
Pairs competing in separate competitions divided by gender 1st Female and Male Pairs: $50,000 per player. 2nd Female and Male Pairs: $17,500 per player. 3rd Female and Male Pairs: $7,500 per player. Rivals, Rivals II

(side note: Evelyn Smith was actually contacted to be on the Real World: Denver because of her short stay on Fresh Meat, but was then told they needed fresh faces instead.)
Duel – Evelyn Smith was supposed to be cast but backed out due to illness and was replaced by Casey Cooper. Linette Gallo was asked but had to decline. Sarah Burke from Philadelphia was originally on the cast but dropped out due to a wedding. Melanie Silcott was asked, but declined. Julie Stoffer either dropped out or was replaced a week before filming. Kendal Sheppard was asked to be on this season.
Inferno 3 - Stephen Nichols was an alternate. Susie Meister was possibly a last minute replacement. Svetlana Shusterman, Beth Stolarczyk, Alex Smith, and Dan Renzi were asked and declined. Johnnie McBride was contacted for this Challenge.
Gauntlet 3 – Svetlana Shusterman and Jenn Grijalva were part of the initial cast. Jenn had to drop out and apparently Svetlana left at the airport. Apparently, Janelle Casanave and Melinda Stolp were the replacements. Stephen Nichols was an alternate. Brynn Smith was supposed to appear, but was pregnant and thus unable.
Island – Kendal Sheppard was paid to be an alternate even though she was not actually available. Stephen Nichols and Alton Williams were alternates. Although the producers were reluctant to ask Svetlana Shusterman after her dropping out of Gauntlet 3, they did anyway; she declined. Brooke LaBarbera dropped out of this Challenge and was replaced by Paula Meronek (although Aneesa Ferreira was contacted first and declined). David Leach was asked to be on this Challenge.
Duel 2 – Dan Walsh backed out at the last minute and was replaced initially by Dave Malinosky (who accepted and then declined right afterward because he was not home to make an immediate departure), and thus ultimately by Ryan Kehoe. Svetlana Shusterman was asked and declined. David Leach was asked to be on this Challenge.
Ruins – Devyn Simone was part of the initial cast but backed out last minute, as well as Cara Zavaleta. Susie Meister replaced Cara, and eventually met her future husband there. Alton Williams was asked but couldn’t go due to work, so he was an alternate instead. Svetlana Shusterman, Jamie Chung, and Brittini Sherrod were asked and declined. There were rumors that CT Tamburello was contacted, but several cast members threatened to drop out if he was cast, so he was not. Dave Malinosky and Trisha Cummings both declined this Challenge. Katelynn Cusanelli, Scott Herman, and Baya Voce all declined this Challenge as well; their Brooklyn roommates Ryan Conklin and JD Ordonez were also contacted to participate. Colie Edison was given an availability call as well.
Fresh Meat II – Jonna Mannion was part of the initial cast, but a lost passport at the airport cost her this opportunity to win money. As seen on the show, she was replaced by Evelyn Smith. Brianna Taylor was asked, but couldn’t go due to being on probation. Janelle Casanave, Evan Starkman, Scott Herman, Svetlana Shusterman, and Nick Brown were asked to be on this Challenge and declined. Ruthie Alcaide and Cohutta Grindstaff were alternates.
Cutthroat – Casey Cooper was asked and said no. Bronne Bruzgo backed out a couple days before and was replaced by Dunbar Merrill. Kenny Santucci backed out the day of and was replaced by Derrick Kosinski. Mike Manning and Svetlana Shusterman were asked and declined. Carley Johnson was contacted and accepted the invitation for this Challenge but did not make the final cast. Callie Walker and Josh Colon were both asked to be on this Challenge.
Rivals – Katie Doyle was supposed to be Sarah's initial Rival and had to back out a week prior to filming; she was replaced by Katelynn Cusanelli. Beth Stolarczyk got calls for this challenge, but could not do one because she was pregnant. Rumor has it that Abram Boise and Adam Larson were attempted, but Adam declined. Susie Meister, Tori Fiorenza, Tonya Cooley, Svetlana Shusterman, Brianna Taylor, and Johanna Botta all declined this Challenge. Dustin Zito was asked to be on this Challenge. Ryan Leslie accepted, but his rival Preston Roberson-Charles declined. Brad Fiorenza and Darrell Taylor were contacted to be a team, but both said no.
Battle of the Exes - Various couples were meant to be on this show, including Adam Royer (who failed the psych exam they instated as of this challenge) and Nany Gonzalez, KellyAnne Judd and Cohutta Grindstaff, and Brad and Tori Fiorenza (despite being married). Sounds like a lot of possibilities, but considering the lack of couples on the show, it's possible that some of these could have been alternates. Heather Cooke was also asked, but was told that they were "going a different direction." Emilee Fitzpatrick received an availability call, but nothing further. Kenny Santucci, despite being banned from Challenges, also received an availability call. Coral Smith was also asked; she would have been in lieu of Cara Maria Sorbello. She said no, but would have gone if she knew Rachel and Aneesa were there. Alton Williams and Irulan Wilson were also asked, as well as Landon Lueck and Shavonda Billingslea. Danny Jamieson and Melinda Stolp were going to be a team, but Melinda had to drop out due to work. Johanna Botta, Michael Ross, Casey Cooper (who declined out of respect to her boyfriend), Svetlana Shusterman, and Frank Roessler and Jillian Zoboroski all declined. Ryan Knight and Jemmye Carroll received an availability call, but did not receive an invitation to be cast. A team of Ayiiia Elizarraras and Joey Rozmus was attempted, but Joey declined. Beth Stolarczyk and Nehemiah Clark were contacted; Nehemiah accepted but Beth declined and threatened to get lawyers involved because she claims she and Nehemiah never hooked up. A team of Ryan Kehoe and Davis Mallory was attempted, but Ryan had to drop out.
Battle of the Seasons – Frank Roessler and Arissa Hill were asked, with both saying yes. Leroy Garrett and Heather Cooke were also originally meant to be a part of team Las Vegas, but then producers went about with the hybrid team for two reasons: the entire Las Vegas team was planned around Trishelle and Alton, and Cooke and Dustin refused to appear on the Challenge together. Carley Johnson was also supposed to be a part of the Fresh Meat team instead of Cara Maria; Cara didn't receive her own authentic jersey until after the first mission. There was a Road Rules team consisting of Rachel Robinson, Katie Doyle, Darrell Taylor, and Derrick Kosinski; apparently Shane Landrum and Susie Meister were also asked (Shane being the alternate). Real World: San Diego also would have had their own team, consisting of Brad Fiorenza, Robin Hibbard, Cameran Eubanks, and Randy Barry, but Randy backed out. Jamie Chung was also contacted for Team San Diego, but obviously declined. And then there is the Team Sydney situation, where the entire team of KellyAnne Judd, Ashli Robson, Dunbar Merrill, and Isaac Stout arrived but was sent home for unknown reasons before filming; they were replaced by team Fresh Meat. Laurel Stucky also was tested for this Challenge, but she backed out, not wanting to be on the same team as Big Easy. A Denver team of Jenn Grijalva, Colie Edison, Brooke LaBarbera, Tyrie Brown, and Davis Mallory was contacted but did not come to fruition. Nick Brown and Will Gilbert from Hollywood were on board but Brianna Taylor, Brittini Sherrod, and Kimberly Alexander declined. Callie Walker, Emily Schromm, Ty Ruff, and Josh Colon from DC with Mike Manning as an alternate were originally a team, but they were dropped when Callie became pregnant. Ashlee Feldman was the alternate for NOLA (and Sahar Dika had also been contacted); Nehemiah Clark was the alternate for Austin. Emilee Fitzpatrick was the alternate for Cancun; Ayiiia Elizarraras was also contacted but declined due to school. LaToya Jackson and Brandon Swift were alternates for St. Thomas. Baya Voce at some point was contacted; when she declined, Sarah Rice was cast instead. Luke Wolfe and Bronne Bruzgo were both contacted, but declined.
Rivals II - Numerous people were tested but not used, including Ashley Kelsey and Brandon Swift. Brandon Kane received an availability call but nothing further. Averey Tressler and Nia Moore were asked, but Nia was not available. Ruthie Alcaide, Susie Meister, Dustin Zito, Svetlana Shusterman, Katie Doyle, Marie Roda, Emilee Fitzpatrick, and Tori Fiorenza were all contacted for this Challenge. Ayiiia Elizarraras was an alternate, along with her rival Cara Maria who was eventually cast. LaToya Jackson and Laura Waller was another alternate team. Evan Starkman, despite being banned from the Challenges, received an availability call for this Challenge. Tyler Duckworth was dropped and replaced by Ty Ruff when the initial desired format, a Duel III, was changed to Rivals II.
Free Agents - Tyler Duckworth was part of the initial cast but dropped at the last second. Paula Meronek is speculated to have dropped out because of Tyler. Brad Fiorenza was originally going to appear, but declined due to the BGC-esque style the show was taking. Heather Cooke was slated to appear, but dropped out several weeks before the departure date. KellyAnne Judd also dropped out of this Challenge. Joi Niemeyer and Averey Tressler were female alternates; Nehemiah Clark and Trey Weatherholtz were male alternates. Sam McGinn was asked and accepted, but also was not cast. Heather Marter accepted the availability call, but declined the second offer to be on this Challenge because Dustin was going to be on it. Coral Smith was asked and offered a lot of money to appear, but declined because she was not in shape. Marlon Williams declined in order to focus on his music career. Ryan Knight was dropped after his assault on Frank Sweeney at the Rivals II reunion. Marie Roda, Katie Doyle, Svetlana Shusterman, Landon Lueck, Danny Jamieson, and Anastasia Miller were asked and declined. Susie Meister received an availability call, but declined as well over a pay dispute.
Battle of the Exes II – Trey Weatherholtz and Laura Waller were an alternate team. Many people were asked but turned down the initial call, such as Alton Williams, Brad and Tori Fiorenza, Brian Williams and Jenny Delich, Frank Sweeney and Alexandra Govere, Marlon Williams, Robb Schreiber, Jenn Grijalva, Johanna Botta, Laurel Stucky, Lauren Ondersma, and Susie Meister. CJ Koegel declined due to his modeling and fitness contract. Darrell Taylor and Rachel Robinson, Dunbar Merrill and Ashli Robson, Eric Patrick and Sahar Dika, Brandon Swift and LaToya Jackson, Ashley Kelsey, Emilee Fitzpatrick, Jamie Larson, and Joi Niemeyer all accepted the initial availability call but were ultimately not cast; some of these were likely alternates or alternate teams. Eric Banks, Cohutta Grindstaff, and Trishelle Cannatella all also received availability calls. Cory Wharton was asked and said yes, but all of his possible exes declined; the same situation happened for Derek Chavez. Shanley McIntee was contacted and accepted, but her ex Chris Tolleson declined. Danny Jamieson and Melinda Stolp were heavily wanted, but Danny had to drop out due to his work schedule. Others that were heavily wanted by production but ended up declining anyway were Anastasia Miller, Heather Marter, Svetlana Shusterman, and Trisha Cummings. Jasmine Reynaud accepted the initial availability call but declined the invitation to appear on this Challenge. Ashley Mitchell received an availability call but nothing further. Marie Roda accepted the invitation to appear on this Challenge, but her ex Robb declined.
Battle of the Bloodlines – Arielle Scott, Jamie Larson, and Bruno Bettencourt (and his brother Briah) all declined. Trey Weatherholtz and Laura Waller were contacted but unable to fit the theme. Emilee Fitzpatrick & her sister, Mandi Moyer & her brother, and Layton Jones & his cousin accepted but did not make the final cast. Brad Fiorenza & his brother were going to be cast, but his brother dropped out. Nia Moore and her sister Makeda were going to be cast, but Makeda dropped out to attend graduate school. Laurel Stucky and her cousin were going to do this Challenge, but Laurel dropped out after not wanting to sign the medical release form. Marie Roda and her sister Victoria also dropped out two weeks before departure. These two teams were subsequently replaced with Christina LeBlanc/Emily Reese and Jenna Compono/Brianna Julig. Brittany Baldassari was contacted and accepted, but her brother dropped out during testing. Derek Chavez and his cousin accepted but were ultimately not cast. Jay Gotti and Jessica Andreatta received availability calls.
Rivals III – Bruno Bettencourt was cast, but dropped out at the last minute. Sylvia Elsrode agreed to participate, but dropped out two weeks before the departure date. Mandi Moyer and Derek Chavez accepted the initial availability call. Jenny Delich Jamie Larson, Jason Hill, Cara Maria Sorbello, and Brian Williams all declined this Challenge. Jay Gotti received an availability call.
Invasion – Emilee Fitzpatrick and Dylan Moore were alternates for this season; they actually flew out to Thailand with the cast just in case they were needed. Sam McGinn and Derrick Kosinski were the alternates for the Champions team. Devyn Simone, Sarah Rice, Johnny Reilly, Jordan Wiseley, Landon Lueck, Paula Meronek, and Wes Bergmann all declined this Challenge. Shane Raines and Trey Weatherholtz accepted the availability call but were not cast. Averey Tressler also accepted and did testing for this Challenge, but was later dropped. A large number of people did receive availability calls for this Challenge, including: Adam Kuhn, Brandon Swift, Brianna Julig, Brittany Baldassari, Cheyenne Floyd, Cohutta Grindstaff, Devin Walker-Molaghan, Dione Mariani, Hannah Rathbun, Jamie Larson, Jay Gotti, Jemmye Carroll, Jenna Thomason, KellyAnne Judd, Leroy Garrett, Madison Walls, Nate Siebenmark, Nicole Ramos, Raphy Medrano, Rashida Beach, Robb Schreiber, Sabrina Kennedy, Simone Kelly, Thomas Buell, and Vince Gliatta. Champions that were contacted include Abram Boise, Emily Schromm, and Jamie Banks.
Dirty 30 – Coral Smith initially accepted, but dropped out several weeks before departure. Sarah Rice, Nany Gonzalez, Wes Bergmann, Theresa Gonzalez, Paula Meronek, and Shane Landrum all declined this Challenge. Alicia Wright dropped out the night before departure due to a ruptured appendix and was replaced with Jenna Compono, although Briana LaCuesta was their first choice (she would later replace Ashley) yet was at work and missed the call. Jay Gotti accepted the call but dropped out due to his work schedule. Anna Stack, Ayiiia Elizarraras, Jennifer Geoghan, Jonna Mannion, Robbie Padovano, and Tyara Hooks all received an availability call.
